Absolutely terrible news came today that affected all at Stevens Magic, and that of all who knew and befriended Robert J. Albo, affectionaly known as "Doc Albo." But without question those most affected were the Albo family. As such, our sincere condolences to Majorie Albo (Doc's warm and wonderful wife and life partner), in addition to the rest of the Albo family.
My father Joe was really hit hard when he learned this news and struggled considerably throughout the day trying to come to grips with this unfortunate reality. It's not often I see my father so distraught, and rarer yet is seeing him emotional but distraught and emotional he is and remains. My father rarely goes home early from the office but today, after trying to work, he realized his grief was overwhelming and thus went home. I would hear him from my office talking to himself stating, "I can't believe it."
Joe kept saying how he was looking forward to being able to see Doc at this years World Magic Seminar, only a few days from now. As Doc was interested in some of Michael Baker's Okito inspired apparatus. I also know the lack of Doc's presence will be strong this year.
Robert Albo was a man that was respected and revered in more ways then most including his medical career which spanned more then half a century, both in private practice as well as being one of the team doctors for the Oakland Raiders. In fact several sporting organizations such as Sports Illustrated, The Oakland Raiders and others have posted this terrible loss which we have linked in this article. As an avid sports athelete and a very talented one at that, he was involved in sports both in the activity sense and later in life in the management via administration of medical help for the players.
One more then one occasion I remember my mother Martha and Joe, attending Oakland Raider football games as Doc's and Majorie's guests. I remeber a long, long time ago when I was lucky enough to travel with my parents to San Francisco where we would meet up with Marvin Burger (Buma Sr.), and Doc Albo. Doc's relationship continued after Buma Sr., (Marvin) passed with Mark Burger (Buma Jr.). I also remember when my sister filmed the original Okito and Thayer Video series at ABC Affiliate studios here in Wichita, and Doc flew in with his collection. I remember every time Doc would call, regardless of who answered the phone, he was amazingly cordial and respectful and had a true talent for exuding a sense of class and power.

Doc was a person that emulated class and was classy to everyone
regardless of their stature he treated all people with respect and he
had a aura about him that was strong that featured positive energy - a
lot of it.
