While most of the products we sell either have free or postapaid shipping in them - this is "ONLY" for Ground. If you order an expedited delivery option - There will be an additional cost!
We have found that automatic post scales often cost more to the consumer. Therefore at Stevens Magic, we treat every order on its own weight and dimensions to try to save you the most money. We also pass on our volume discount shipping to you the client.
If you are a new client we welcome you and would be happy to let you know the shipping costs if you can let us know what possible items you would be interested in. We will then generate a multi-option quote for your review. This is a customized, and individualized special service for you. Below are some general details on shipping.
Domestic Shipping (Important)
Good News! Despite USPS, FedEx and other carriers raising their prices an average of 35% in the past five years (7% per year).
Stevens Magic is NOT increasing shipping prices nor are we raising our retail prices! Stevens Magic will maintain our "low" shipping rates; however, we will be utilizing a new shipping service (Smartpost-which is a combination of FedEx working with the Post Office) at times to achieve that goal, which "may" take an additional day or two for you to get your package.
Smartpost is utilitized by companies such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Keep in mind, in most cases-your orders in the U.S. are still getting postpaid prices with very reasonable delivery times. In the event you need to expedite your order we offer a variety of affordable options.
In many cases Stevens Magic subsidizes all or part of the shipping, as well as subsiding additional surcharges. In 2009, we stated that we are no longer able to fully absorb the ever increasing surcharges (fuel, extended delivery, insurance) and thus when applicable we charge the lowest possible tier of only $3.50 "per package," even though many times the surcharges are greater than the shipping charges!
We do our best to provide "disclosure" by making these statements periodically in our catalogs and also posting them permanently on our website.
Over 90% of the products we sale either include free domestic shipping, or a "portion" of the costs for shipping have been added to the product price.
Sur charges. These are not technically shipping costs, but additional costs associated with many factors including but not limited to, fuel, extended delivery, non-commercial deliveries, etc. These charges range from $3.50 to $12.00 per package. As such we can no longer absorb 100% of the additional surcharges and effective Jan. 1, 2012, we will charge $3.50 per package to offset these costs charged to us by Fed Ex and UPS. Remember, this is only per package, not per item, and applies only to domestic shipments in America, ground service only. Please understand many times we are charged back great then $4.00 and while we still subsidize surcharges we cannot cover them 100%.
If you wish to expedite your order you will be charged a very competitive upgrade charge depending on the service you select - however - that amount will NOT be listed on the check out page - if you MUST know the price BEFORE, you MUST contact us for an exact quote.
USPS Priority Mail
If it is absolutely necessary for you to know the exact costs before you can e-mail or call us and we will give you the totals - but please understand this may slow down the order processing time. For those of you who have been with us for 35 years, you know we have very reasonable upgrade shipping costs that are in fact much cheaper then if you used commercial mailing centers.
We process most orders very quickly but please understand, once your package leaves our door regardless of the shipper, we have no control.
If you would like your order insured YOU MUST LET US KNOW THAT AT THE TIME OF PLACING THE ORDER! Additional costs apply.
We also strongly suggest you consider upgrading to a faster service during the holidays due to the mammoth amount of mail being shipped during these times, if you wish to increase the delivery time.
Disclaimer: Stevens Magic as of November 2011, started the process of adding the weights of items into the shopping cart - however - this is a long process and it is important to note that there are only a small fraction of items we sell that have these values. Therefore, if you select an item that we have not yet added in the weight values, along with other items that we do have the weight values for - only the weight for the items that are "in the system" will show up on the order confirmation page. This means that until such time that all products have been included, the weights shown will not be accurate. We ask for your patience as we start this process.
Please make your selections wisely! Magic is a secret art and once that is learned we cannot issue a refund. If you return an item, you will be provided with a merhandise credit for that amount, subject to the condition of the returned item.
Yes! We do ship internationally! For 38 years we have shipped our products all over the world. Our shipping prices are extremely competitive.
Because there are many variables that determine the price of shipping -- if you must know the shipping costs before placing the order -- please e-mail us with the items you are interested in. We will e-mail back to you the shipping options, companies (USPS, and Fed Ex) and costs.
For small packages (under 1.8 kilograms) we suggest either USPS Reg. Airmail (Parcel Post) which is the most economical but takes the longest time (approx.16-25 days). NOTE: IF YOU SELECT REGULAR AIRMAIL AND THE PARCEL WEIGHS MORE THEN 1.8 KILOGRAMS IT MUST BE SENT BY USPS PRIORITY MAIL. USPS DOES NOT OFFER REGULAR AIRMAIL RATES ON PACKAGES WEIGHING MORE THEN 1.8 KILOGRAMS. The most affordable upgrade for any sized package is USPS Priority Mail (approx. 9-14 days with limited tracking).
As a general rule, Fed Ex is more expensive - but it is also the fastest and offers complete tracking. It is the safest and quickest way to ship products and in some rare cases depending on the value of the item, or the country it is being sent to - Stevens Magic reserves the right to only authorize the order if it is sent by Fed Ex. While we offer various shipping alternatives in the event one is down due to software problems, or we are able to offer you a better service for the same price - we reserve the right to make those changes in the interest of expediting your order and/or improving your service at the same costs.
Estimated Shipping Times: (Varies from country to country). The below list starts with the more expensive and fastest options at the top.
Fed Ex - Very Fast 3-5 days. With FULL Tracking. Without question the best service available.

RETURNS DUE TO DAMAGED or DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
Fortunately, SME has exceptionally low returns for defective products. It is important to note that if you get a defective item we will do our best to replace or repair it for you as quickly as possible, however we under no obligation to pay for expedited mailing services both in terms of the defective product being returned, an also with respect to us sending you the replacement or repaired item. We regret any frustration with respect to any item that is defective, none-the-less, the policy must be followed and SME is under no obligation to provide a return/replacement:
1. Prior to the defective item being returned to SME - for repair or replacement.
REIMBURSEMENTS FOR SHIPPING COSTS
If you get a defective item, and an authorized return is issued by SME, we will reimburse your return shipping costs provided:
1. You contact us prior to shipping in with the return authorization request. Once approved, we will reimburse you cost for returning said item - provided you contact us prior to shipping with the cost for returning the item(s) via the most economical method.
2. Most Importantly - SME will ONLY reimburse shipping costs for returned defective items, if they are sent the most economical way (Domestic, first class or USPS Priority - International Standard Air-Mail Economy, by the respective countries federal postal system).
Do NOT use premium express shipping service like Fed Ex or UPS. If you do so SME will only reimburse you for the cost of that package under the standard economy rates.
Stevens Magic is under no obligation to send a replacement within any time-sensitive situation and/or performance date dictated by the purchaser. We will do our best to get it mailed as quickly as possible, using the msot affordable option of our choice.
We will send replacements at our cost, but do so in most cases using USPS standard first class, or Reg. USPS AirMail or International USPS Priority Mail. We reserve the right in some cases to have a return shipped back to us using our Fed Ex account number (in which case you will be provided with a time-sensitive guest account number).
Returns: In the event a product is damaged, contact us for a Return Authorization. Upon approval we will issue a replacement or repair however the defective goods must first be returned and the replacement/repair will be sent by regular mail (economy) regardless of how the inital order was dispatched. All returns to Stevens Magic must be sent in the most economical method to qualify for any reimbursements.
International returns will only be reimbursed provided they are shipped by "regular airmail" using the Federal Post Office services of each respective country.
It's unusual when it happens, and when it does it's an unfortunate experience for all parties, but it does not require the seller (SME), to expedite an immediate replacement. While we are happy to replace or repair the item, SME is under no obligation to meet any performance deadlines (while we will do our best).
Please note that any electronic items warranty will be VOIDED if the item is tampered with or attempted to be fixed with any other party.
