Review by lmphillips for Suzy Wandas: The Lady with the Fairy Fingers – Limited Printing

5 out of 5

My wife and I had the great pleasure of meeting and spending time with Suzy at the Abbott’s Get Together in the early 1970’s. She was in her late 70’s at the time and living in Detroit. After dinner, during which she regaled us both with tales of her adventures performing all over Europe in the early 20th century. She then proceeded to perform an absolutely flawless, slow-motion Coins to Glass routine, using Morgan Dollars she took from her purse and a wine glass from the table. The was followed by an equally stunning and flawless bare-handed vanish of all 4 coins at once, including a beautiful and graceful aquitment showing both hands empty, front and back, concluding with the coins being produced one at a time and again dropped into the wine glass. Almost 50 years later, that impromptu performance at the dinner table is still vividly remembered by me as the most magical, graceful and captivating thing I have ever seen done with coins.

I was aware this book had been published in Dutch, and am very pleased that it has been translated into English.

Suzy Wandas has for years been a forgotten, technically perfect performer, and I am glad that her story is now available to American readers.
