Source: MAGICPEDIA: The Mene-Tekel (or Menetekel Deck or The Self-Shifting Pack) is a mechanical deck credited to Burling Hull (1910). A card is selected and placed back in the center of the deck. Instantly it jumps to the top of the deck. It is based on an old principle that can be found in The Discoverie of Witchcraft and Clever and Pleasant Inventions (both from 1584), and which is commonly known as the Blow Book. It is similar to a Svengali Deck, but the arrangement of cards is different to allow different effects. All cards are meticulously cut by professional card mechanic.

Possible Routine Idea: Spread The Cards out on the table face-up, such that the spectators see all different cards.  Then swipe them back in your hand and turn them over so only the backs are in view and ask a spectator to select a card. She does so, and that card is revealed for all to see.   That card then is placed into a wallet, or an envelope, where it remains. With a simple snap of the your fingers held over the deck, you turn over the top card – which magicially happens to be the SAME card you just put in the wallet!  How can that be?  You next grab the wallet and pick it up and upon opening the wallet – the card is NOW gone from the wallet.  You can also do with a signed card.  Watch Video for the complete workings!
